Just use a cleanser that will get all the dirt and make up off your face. In order to combat acne, it's not the cleanser that you use that gets rid of it. It's the moisturizer or ointment that you apply that really makes a difference. I use a glycolic acid moisturizer and that keeps any major pimples at bay (alpha hydrox lotion.) Generally you can't find a good acid moisturizer with the correct ph level at the drugstore.

If you get pimples because of hormones, I find that taking 1 pill a day of Aleve during a hormonal breakout gets rid of pimples. Read the warning label of course.

Here's some info on Aleve and acne on a message board http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=114587&hl=aleve

Alpha Hydrox info http://www.amazon.com/Alpha-Hydrox-AHA-Enhanced-Lotion/product-reviews/B000052YM7/ref=sr_1_1_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

An alternative moisturizer to the Alpha Hydrox is the Clean and clear dual action moisturizer. It has salicylic acid in it but you need to be careful, it can make your skin flaky.
